There are two updates to share regarding Cannabis dispensaries in our neighborhood!

Zen Leaf may have found a new home at the Gateway Centre Plaza at 7541 N. Clark Street. If you recall, Zen Leaf attempted to relocate their existing dispensary at 7305 N Rogers to the old Leona’a location of Sheridan, but neighbors were concerned about the impact a Cannabis dispensary would have on that aread. The new site would provide Zen Leaf 4,800 square feet of retail space and 100 parking spaces immediately east of the building. It’s also considered more centrally located which may make it more accessible to customers. If approved, they hope to open the new location by the end of this year. The alderwoman’s office is hosting a community meeting on the proposal on Wednesday, March 8th at 6 pm. To register to attend, visit https://bit.ly/2023TownHalls.

Additionally, a new dispensary looking to bring some competition to the ward, Perception Cannabis, is looking to open a dispensary at the intersection of Clark and Lunt, at the old money exchange location. The alderwoman’s office has scheduled a meeting to discuss the future site on Tuesday, March 14th, at 6 pm. While the area is appropriately zoned for the business, a Special Use Permit is required.
